Maestro Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte

Born in 1996 in Rome, Lorenzo Di Giosa!atte is an Italian conductor currently based in Paris. In 2023, he made his international debut by winning the First Prize at the VII Atlantic Coast International Conducting Competition in Porto, conducting Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. He has also been a semifinalist in significant competitions for young orchestral conductors, including the International Call for Conductors in Budapest, the International Orchestra Conducting Competition on Modern and Contemporary Repertoire ‘Città di Brescia – Giancarlo Facchinetti’, IV edition, and the International Competition ‘Peter Maag’ for young orchestral conductors with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto. Lorenzo Di Giosa!atte will make his debut in Japan in June 2025 at the Toyama International Contemporary Music Festival, conducting two evenings dedicated to international contemporary composers with world premiere pieces. Since 2018, at the age of only 22, he has successfully debuted in Italy and abroad, conducting numerous orchestras such as the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra ‘I Musici’ di Parma, the Romae Philarmonia Orchestra, the Toscana Classica Orchestra in Italy, as well as the Dresden Sinfonietta in Germany, the Danubia Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, the Kecskémet Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, the Orquesta da Costa Atlântica in Porto, Portugal, the Siamo Orkest in The Hague, Netherlands, and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra in the United States. During these performances, he has conducted a wide repertoire of symphonic and operatic works.
He has honed his craft with Maestro Jorma Panula, studying in the Netherlands and Hungary, and participated in the renowned Accademia Chigiana in Siena in July and August 2023 with Maestri Daniele Gatti and Luciano Acocella, with whom he later delved into Beethoven’s symphonic repertoire in Florence. Lorenzo Di Giosa!atte graduated in Orchestra Conducting in 2021 from the State Conservatory of Music ‘Alfredo Casella’ in L’Aquila under the guidance of Maestro Marcello Bufalini with the highest honors and praise. He completed his master’s studies in 2022, obtaining a second-level Biennium Degree with honors, discussing a thesis on the aesthetics of Mahler’s lieder and performing the Mahler’s Rückert Lieder. During his conservatory years, he also specialized in opera theater, attending the Orchestra Conducting course ‘Operando’ under the guidance of Maestri Francesco Lanzillotta and Bruno Taddia. In addition to his academic studies, he has participated in numerous Masterclasses worldwide (United States, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, and Italy) with renowned orchestral conductors, including Daniele Agiman, Neil Thomson, Luis Miguel Clemente, Fabrizio Ventura, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Lawrence Golan, and Diane Wittry. He earned a master’s degree in economics and management of cultural enterprises from the Treccani Accademia. Since 2022, he has been the artistic director and founder of the Società Filarmonica Dioniso, organizing symphonic and chamber concerts that also include works by contemporary composers. In February 2023, he conducted the world premiere of the concerto for guitar and orchestra by Maestro Fabio Renato d’Ettorre, with soloist Maestro Gian Marco Ciampa. He received piano training from Maestra Svetlana Pekarskaja in Rome and studied composition with Maestri Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini, and Mauro Cardi in L’Aquila
Shalini Vijayan

Described as a "vibrant violinist" by Mark Swede of the Los Angeles Times, violinist Shalini Vijayan is an established performer and collaborator on both the East and West coasts. Always a proponent of contemporary music, Shalini was a founding member and principal second violin of Kristian Järvi's Absolute Ensemble, recording several albums with the group, including the 2001 Grammy-nominated Absolution. Shalini is also a founding member of the Lilith Quartet, one of Los Angeles' most beloved chamber music ensembles. With Lilith, she regularly performs at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with Jacaranda Music's Green Umbrella series, and helped found the Here Now Music Festival in Venice, California, a festival dedicated to the music of Los Angeles' living composers. Shalini has performed with Southwest Chamber Music for over 10 years and can be heard on the Grammy-nominated The Complete Chamber Music of Carlos Chavez, Volume 1. 3. She has appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Master Chorale in Chinalee Ng's Spiral XII and Tan Dun's Water Passion, and has performed at the Ravinia Festival. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with luminaries such as Billy Childs, Chinalee Ng, Gabriela Ortiz, and Wadada Leo Smith, and was soloist on Wadada Leo Smith's Ten Freedom Summers. Shalini joined the renowned Los Angeles ensemble Brightwork New Music in 2019 and is also the curator of Brightwork's Tuesdays@Monkspace series, a hub for contemporary music and performance in Los Angeles. As a teacher, she is a faculty member at the Nirmita Composers Workshop in Siem Reap and Bangkok, and has mentored composition students at the Impulse New Music Festival.Shalini received her B.M. and M.M. degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Lucy Robert and Ariana Bronne. As a member of the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami Beach, Florida, Shalini has served as concertmaster for Michael Tilson Thomas, John Adams, Reinbert de Leeuw, and Oliver Knussen, among others. She also served as concertmaster for the world premiere and recording of Steven McKee's Tuck and Roll for RCA Records in 2000. Shalini was a member of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra for ten seasons and was also principal second violin with Opera Pacific. Shalini lives in Los Angeles with her son, husband, and two dogs, and in her free time enjoys cooking Indian food and exploring the Southern California food landscape.

Tomo Takeoka
She started classical ballet at the age of four at the Tanaka Hideko Ballet Institute. In 1994, she received the Toyama Prefecture Arts and Culture Association Encouragement Award. In 1996, she became a domestic trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs and performed in many ballet and contemporary productions in Tokyo. During her domestic training, she studied under Sato Hiroshi, Ishii Kiyoko, Shoji Yutaka, and Futami Kazuyuki. After completing her training, she continued her studies at the ballet company at the recommendation of Ishii, the chairman of the Tokyo City Ballet. During that time, she participated in the ballet company's performances such as "Swan Lake".
In February 2006, she founded Fairy Ballet Theater.
In 2010, she received the Outstanding Instructor Award at the NAMUE Classical Ballet Competition Kanazawa.
In 2011, she received the Outstanding Instructor Award at the Youth Ballet Competition Tokyo.
In 2016, she received the Toyama Prefecture Arts and Culture Association 45th Anniversary Commemorative Merit Award.
2017: Won the Best Instructor Award at the Japan Ballet Competition Ishikawa 2017.
2018: Won the Instructor Award at the National Hachioji Ballet Competition,
Won the Best Instructor Award at the Japan Ballet Competition Ishikawa 2018.
2019: Won the Best Instructor Award at the 4th National Ballet Competition Prix de Kanazawa 2019.
The piece he choreographed placed in the Top 12 in the Contemporary Division of the Senior Division of the Youth America Grand Prix 2020 Japan Preliminary.
2023: Won the Outstanding Instructor Award at the Japan Ballet Competition Ishikawa 2023.
Won the Best Instructor Award at the 3rd Toyama International Dance Competition.
Won the Outstanding Instructor Award at the 7th PIBC Winter Preparatory.
2024: Won the Outstanding Instructor Award at the NANUE Classical Ballet Competition Kanazawa.

In addition to the above, he has produced many other prize-winning dancers at various competitions.
He has produced professional dancers for ballet companies both in Japan and abroad, including Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Swiss Zurich Ballet, Ballet Dortmund, Ballet Theater UK, Ballet Chambre Ouest, Momoko Tani Ballet Company, and Tokyo City Ballet Studio Company.
